Nikola Štefundová strieborná na na 800 m
Lukáš doplatil na to, že bežal v 1. behu. V ňom favoriti taktizovali, bežalo sa veľmi pomaly, rozhodovalo sa až v závere. Lukáš v tomto behu dobehol piaty. Bežci v 2. behu už netaktizovali a bežali na čas, a tak sa traja na základe časov dostali pred Prívaru. V nedeľu bežali naši pretekári 800 m, svoju hlavnú disciplínu. Nikola Štefundová patrila medzi favoritky a túto úlohu i splnila. Bežala stále v čele, strážila si dobrú pozíciu. Nezachytila však nástup V. Malčekovej (AK Zvolen) 300 m pred cieľom. Nikola sa 200 m pred cieľom odhodlala ju stíhať, ale Malčeková mala už dostatočný náskok. Nikola dobehla druhá v novom osobnom rekorde 2:24,90. Na 3. mieste skončila K. Hegedúsová (Nové Zámky). Chlapci sa na osemstovke naplnili očakávania. Michal Kučera bežal odvážnejšie, trochu mu v závere chýbali sily. Lukáš Prívara začal príliš opatrne a svojich súperov obiehal až v závere. Dobehol v čase 2:13,4 na peknom 4. mieste, keď 60 m pred cieľom predbehol práve Michala Kučeru. Ten obsadil 5. miesto v novom osobnom rekorde 2:13,88. N. Štefundová a M. Kučera budú ešte 2 roky pretekať v žiackej kategórii, vo svojom ročníku narodenia (1998) vedú tohtoročné slovenské tabuľky na 300 m, resp. 800 m. Nikola dokonca na pretekoch vo Varšave (International Childrens Athletic Games), na ktorých súťažili pretekári z ôsmich krajín – Poľska, Maďarska, Litvy,Estónska, Lotyšska, Ukrajiny, Čiech a Slovenska, zvíťazila v behu na 600 m.
V sobotu 3. septembra sa už tradične (26. ročník) v Žiline bežala Zátopkova desiatka. V behu na 10 km žien zvíťazila vo svojej kategórii Alena Pochybová (v absolútnom poradí druhá). Roman Hanzel, v nedávnej minulosti vynikajúci osemstovkár, dobehol medzi mužmi do 40 rokov na 3. mieste. Mladšie žiačky Soňa Kohútová a Martina Jarošová bežali 600 m. Obe dobehli v nových osobných rekordoch: Soňa druhá za1:56,9, Martina tretia za 1:58,7. Výborný výkon podala medzi staršími žiačkami Michaela Jarošová na 800 m. Zvíťazila v novom osobnom rekorde 2:42,7. Aj tieto mladé bežkyne dosiahli pekné časy a umiestnenia, záleží na ich vôli a chuti do tréningu, ako sa im bude dariť ďalej.
